Colin gave a presentation to the students Kingsley Montessori School, in which students were able to get hands on with our robotic dog William. Students able to learn not just about how William worked but the many jobs he can help do in the future. The presentation largely functioned a s Q&A letting students guide the conversation about the future of robotics and technology.

Colin gave a presentation to a group of professors and students at Yale University. The talk discussed the difference between talent and hard work. Often times in education determination and grit is chalked up to natural aptitude. This diminishes and occasionally invalidates students’ commitment to their crafts. Colin’s experiences with education was the backbone of this presentation. “The students in my classes are never outright talented, rather they dedicated and committed to learning such topics” - Colin

Colin and Gavin were able to team up with TeamWorx Team Building to provide an exhilarating professional development experience for the workers of the Federal Reserve Building in Boston. The two helped multiple teams of workers assemble their own battle bots, which they would then use to compete against other teams. The event was a lot of fun for all participants, and we are excited to do more professional development going forward.

Colin, Gavin, Sahil, and Munir visited Huckleberry Hill Elementary School, to explain their experiences with engineering and the importance of mistakes. The schools personal model of “The Power of Yet” fit perfectly with the presentation. The process of creating William was used as a core example on how mistakes are pivotal in succeeding.

One of our most fun events to this day. Held in Seaport Boston the Mass Robotics Robot Block party was an amazing opportunity for us. We able to meet and learn from professionals from companies such Boston Dynamics, I-Robot, Mitsubishi and many more. We also were able to share our services with the people of Boston, further exposing young students to STEM. William was by far the star of the event with his dazzling dance moves. Students were able to get one on one experience with William the robot dog and even learn how he is programmed.

William is a robotic quadruped based on the MIT Mini Cheetah platform, built and programmed by our team at FMG Robotics. William has been an amazing way to expose young students to robotics and programming in a fun and exciting way. We are constantly looking to improve his design and teach him new tricks. William loves attending schools and we are eager to share him with hundreds more students!

Colin and Gavin got the awesome opportunity to present to the amazing professionals at Boston Fintech. It was a great chance for the two to practice their elevator pitch for the business and make new connections. The presentation also was a proving ground for William. With the audience coming from a business background rather than STEM, the two had to break down complicated topics into easy to understand pieces.

On August 6th, we held a STEM education fair in which high school students could share their knowledge with younger students in the community. By far the star of the show was spot the robot dog. The Boston Dynamics robot was extremely entertaining but led to a lot of educational discussions with students.

Recently we redesigned the makerspace at Lynnfield Highschool. The space meant for exposing students to new technologies and providing the resources for students to put together projects. The new design allows for better collaboration and more effective design. The redesign features much more storage space, a much needed addition. We will have more updates soon!

The team at FMG were gratefully able to hold a booth at Northeastern University’s Engineering For Everyone Expo. Various K-12 schools in the Boston area and Boston families were able to interact with the many demonstrations students Northeastern created for there various clubs and research groups. Along with a live demonstration of our robotic dog William, FMG robotics brought a physics based VR lab for students to get hands on with this new innovative technology.
